I work with figures and storytelling in my work. The human has told the story of being human since the first cave paintings found in caves and shelters dating back to the Ice Age (Upper Paleolithic), roughly between 40,000 and 14,000 years ago.
The frescos in Danish churches were created between 1100 and 1600, during the time of Catholicism. They survived destruction during the Reformation of 1500-1600 but were later whitewashed and covered up as a pure white church became the trend. At the end of the 1800’s and as a result of renewed interest, they were uncovered and restored.
